I guess it is the dream of every Grandpa to teach his grand children about certain things of the great outdoors. Last spring a year ago we had Riley for three or four days and she got to experience the joy of fishing for white bass behind a trolling pontoon boat. She did very well until we got to the cleaning part of the fish . Some how she vanished from site. This summer we had Cannon for a day or two and we got to experience the time of a hunt with a B B Gun. I remember my Red Ryder B B Gun and what fun I had. So we took off in the mule and went on a hunt.

It was not long before we came upon a 3x6 and we began to stalk it. When the time was right Cannon took aim and
popped the 3x6 in the leg. He had wounded the 3x6 so we continued to stalk him.
Finally the time was right and he put him out of his pain.

He had taken a rather large 3x6 (3inches by 6 legs) Grasshopper. He was really proud of his trophy and I was too. Knowing that I had guided him on his first successful hunt. We will continue to do this each time he comes. Watch out all you tumble bugs! We are putting you on notice.

After the hunt we went down to the garden where his and Riley's flowers are planted. I explained that he did a good thing because the grasshoppers sometime destroy flowers like that.

Did I say that Cannon took the last
two pictures on his own with my camera. He is quite talented either shooting a B B Gun or a camera...don't you agree?
Have A Great Day and enjoy your children or your children's children.
Might be my favorite story ever. I love it!
