Scouting Trip

Carol and I took a little scouting trip to Colorado to look at a part of Colorado where I will hunt for Elk in October. This meadow is located about 20 miles back in the high country. I plan to be on the edge of this meadow on the morning of the 16th.

This is a great place already set up by some hunter called Swamp Fox. He really picked out a great place. This is located about 10 miles into the high country. We were able to use our four wheeler to get back into the far parts of the country.

Maybe I will meet this Swamp Fox. I hope I get to this place first unless Swamp Fox is 6'5" and weights 250 then I will probably negotiate. I mean I will find another place.

Some beauty along the way to South Fork Colorado. This is Wolf Creek Pass, close to where I will hunt.

This is the Conejoes Valley. Some very nice homes down there. The Conejoes River runs through it. I could probably live there.

The woods were filled with all kinds of creatures. I am still trying to classify this one. She looks like somebody I know. OH WELL!!!

Can you see the squirrel in this tree? It came out on the end of the limb and posed.

This is monkey face peak and it is across the valley where I will be hunting. I hope I can keep my mind on the hunting and not be distracted by the constant beauty of the mountains and wildlife and all that goes with Colorado.
Have a great day.
